BUWOG focuses on ecological, economic and social sustainability in new construction. In this context, the company is pursuing ambitious climate protection targets. BUWOG’s sustainability agenda extends across the entire new construction business. We promote sustainable mobility concepts and drive forward energy optimization and the expansion of renewable energies in our new construction projects.

Wherever possible and sensible, the roofs of new BUWOG buildings are greened. This provides additional habitat for native birds and insects. What’s more, green roofs can store rainwater and return it to the natural water cycle through evaporation. A positive side effect: pleasant cooling on hot summer days.

At BUWOG, however, sustainability begins even before the cranes start turning: We focus on resource-conserving and environmentally friendly construction methods right from the project planning stage. When selecting building materials, sustainable or recycled materials are used wherever possible. This not only secures local jobs, but also reduces CO2 emissions by shortening delivery routes. We are also gradually increasing our timber construction quota.
